Our CANTABelect data management services are designed to handle and process your valuable data as safely and securely as possible

Your encrypted data are received from sites via the internet, with backups saved on-site to memory sticks. All data are stored securely and encrypted on the systems at our site.

Data processing specifications

Your data are processed using a custom version of our CANTABelect data manager software created and validated specifically for each study. The specifications for this software, including the required output fields and checks to be performed on your data, will be agreed with you before the software is created. The software is validated following a documented Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) approach.

Warnings and queries

While your data are being processed, they will be checked for discrepancies such as duplicate/missing data and values outside of permissible ranges. These discrepancies will generate warnings which will be highlighted in the output. From these warnings, queries will be raised by Cambridge Cognition with the appropriate site investigators via data clarification forms.

Resolution and audit

Resolved queries will be entered by Cambridge Cognition into the data manager, which creates a digitally signed record in a log to which entries can only be added, not edited. This log acts as an unalterable audit trail of data changes, each stamped with the time that it was entered into the data manager system. These modifications will be made to the data when subsequent output files are being generated; the original data received for the sites is never modified.
